This course provides an overview of DNA Collection and submissions, warrants, fingerprinting, criminal history, dispositions, expungements, diversions, orders of protection, and mental defective entries into NICS. Fentanyl Awareness for Law Enforcement
Learn about the history of opioid use, the current addiction crisis, staying safe in the field when encountering synthetic opioids such as fentanyl, recognizing exposure symptoms, and responding to opioid overdoses. Fentanyl Awareness for Law Enforcement is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
Integrating the DEC Approach and Handle with Care
This course equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to effectively implement the Drug Endangered Children (DEC) approach and Handle with Care (HWC) program in Tennessee. It is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
TBI Homeland Online Records (THOR)
This course introduces all law enforcement officers to the TBI Homeland Online Records (THOR), a joint venture between the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security that fosters information sharing for all law enforcement personnel in Tennessee. It is approved for 1.5 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
TN SOR Compliance and Absconders
This course is designed to increase agency capacity to conduct compliance operations and absconder investigations. This includes tips for explaining compliance to registered sex offenders, determining whether an offender is out of compliance, and conducting compliance operations. It is approved for 1 hour of P.O.S.T. credit.
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
Learn about legislative requirements, vehicle dynamics, professional driving during hazardous conditions, the importance of following department policies and procedures, and critical safety during an accident. EVOC satisfies T.C.A. 55-8-194 and is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
Human Trafficking 101
This course is part of TBI's ongoing effort to raise awareness, improve detection, and increase prevention of human labor and human sex trafficking in Tennessee. Human Trafficking 101 satisfies legal requirements under T.C.A. § 38-6-114(b) and is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
Meth Awareness for Law Enforcement
Learn about the history of methamphetamines and current methamphetamine trends in Tennessee. This course identifies hazards to users and first responder risks associated with meth use and production. It has been approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
TN Sex Offender Registry (SOR) 101
Explore a general overview of SOR for law enforcement that includes the history of SOR, registration, classification, and responsibilities under current TN law, and how to search and map offenders on the TBI website. This course is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
TN SOR Tutorial
This training will remind learners of best practices before beginning an initial registration, introduce learners to the SOR dashboard, show them three common initial registration scenarios, and take them through an interactive guide of the steps required for an initial registration, information updates with or without changes, and annual/quarterly/ monthly reporting. This course is approved for 2 hours of P.O.S.T. credit.
